All QLC Smart Meters have our patented, frequency-agile Power Line Communications (PLC) technology built-in. A QLC Transponder connected to the main switchgear enables encrypted meter-data exchange over the existing power distribution system, thus eliminating the need for data wiring or RF emissions in the building. In addition to the typical billing values (kWh, kW, kVARhrs), QLC Smart Meters record V, A, phase angle, and PF per phase, THD, Hz, low and high voltage events. QLC Smart meters can interface with BAS Systems via BACnet or Modbus, and can be fitted with network (IP) adapters. QLC Advanced Meters can log pulses from other devices such as gas, water, fuel, BTU meters for a complete remote utility billing service.
